DR. BUNNY McFADDEN
A Chicana mother, community college and high school teacher, union site rep, and non-profit program director, Dr. Bunny McFadden is a Board of Trustees candidate who understands the concerns of faculty, staff, and students. She grew up sleeping in the faculty lounge while her mother, a janitor, cleaned community college classrooms, and she later graduated high school early thanks to community college.
Bunny spent nearly a decade working in high school and community college classrooms, before earning her Educational Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction while parenting two children under two. Bunny’s experience also includes union site representative, joining picket lines (including turning out nearly every day of last year’s UESF strike at SFUSD), nonprofit boards, nature education and programming, neighborhood beautification projects, workforce development, and local journalism. Her fearless takes on SF politics, education, and culture (like this one) can be seen on her popular Instagram account.
Bunny believes CCSF is the most important institution San Francisco has and she brings extensive experience to her vision for CCSF, which centers on preserving our role as a community college. She sees the college as an ecosystem and educational habitat for students across home and satellite campuses that truly enriches our city. To support her vision, Bunny is committed to consensus-building and will work collaboratively with peers, students, faculty and community members to ensure the future of CCSF meets the needs and dreams of our students.
Dr. Bunny McFadden is endorsed by Supervisor Connie Chan, former Board President Aaron Peskin, former Supervisor Dean Preston, former Mayor Willie Brown, and trustees Susan Solomon and Vick Chung, and a growing list of others.
